Bookcase sides and shelving are made of the highest of quality oak veneers (to ensure flatness and stability). The face is made of solid oak. Top Shelf is fixed, all other shelves are adjustable. 11x48x36 are outside dimensions. Inside Top Shelf Dimensions are 9 1/4″ Deep X 45″ Wide X 12″ High (opening 43″ X 10 1/2″). Lower opening is 20 1/2″ Wide and has adjustable shelving in 1 1/4″ increments.
